Since a young age, I've always been told that the only way to be happy in life is to be successful. Growing up with this statement in my head, my perception was that in order to achieve success I had to earn a lot of money and make a prominent name for myself. As a child, I believed my dream career, which would provide both of these necessities, was in New York City working as the editor-in-chief of Seventeen or Glamour. In a fantasy world colorized by beautiful people and luxurious parties, I owned a Mercedes-Benz, Louis Vuitton and a five-star penthouse.
